India’s Fiscal Deficit (2025–26)

India’s fiscal deficit reached ₹12.52 trillion by February 2026, which is 80.4% of the annual target, lower than 85.8% in the same period of 2024–25. The data was released by the Controller General of Accounts under the Ministry of Finance.

• The fiscal deficit target for 2025–26 is ₹15.58 trillion, i.e., 4.4% of GDP.
• The current level (80.4%) indicates better fiscal consolidation compared to last year.

Japan to Set Up Support Centre for Firms in India
